The traces of fishermen go from Port Maria (1st sardine port in France from 1930 to 1947) to Le Manémeur, a former fishing village. The wild coast presents impressive cliffs.

Step by step :

Departure: Take the greenway which passes in front of the car park on the left. While remaining cautious, cross the departmental road in the bend, at the indicated place, for more safety.
1- Continue along the Côte Sauvage path whose cliffs, sometimes more than 20 m high, face the onslaught of westerly winds and the sea. Continue to the tip of Château Turpault, an Anglo-style manor -medieval building built by a spinner from Cholet in 1910 and which marks the entrance to Quiberon (private property).Passing by, discover the Covered Alley of the Pointe de la Guérite, a buried tomb dating from the Neolithic era whose covering slabs are flush with the surface. It is located near a menhir.
2- Enter Quiberon along the quays to the fishing port. Pass in front of the Port Maria ferry terminal (1870) which was the leading sardine port in France at the beginning of the 20th century. La Criée is one of the oldest in Brittany. On the docks,
see the work of art inspired by a poem by Pablo Neruda depicting a fish. Quai de l'Océan, see a concrete parapet, remnant of the Atlantic Wall. Quiberon was part of the "Lorient pocket", liberated from German occupation at the end of the
Second World War. Continue along the Promenade de la Plage.
3- Go up Place Hoche and take Rue du Phare. Cross the rue du Port de Pêche. Continue straight on along rue du Noroît and rue des Alizés as far as rue des Hortensias, take it to the left, go up it to rue du Manémeur.Turn left then immediately right into rue du Couchant and finally left.
4- Place du Manémeur, take the path between two houses, continue for 300 m.
5- Take the path on the right. Rue des Quatre Vents, turn left. At the roundabout, continue straight ahead. Continue along a path towards Kernavest. Cross rue de Kernavest, continue for 150 m. Turn right to the Jardin du Ragot. Bypass it on the right and enter it by a small path going down to the left. Exit through the other entrance. Take the path already taken towards Kernevest and, at the fork, turn off onto the path to the right.
6- At the next crossroads, go straight ahead slightly to the left. Reach the Locmaria tower, remnant of the old semaphore. From the top of the tower, orientation table and 360° view of the peninsula, Houat, Belle-Île, Groix, Lorient and Quiberon Bay. Continue along the chemin de la tour and take the next one on the right. At the intersection, turn left at the next crossing towards Kerniscob then immediately right and finally left, cross the village.
7- Take the Allée de Tiviho on the right for 50 m, turn into the path on the left towards the coast. At the crossroads, continue opposite then right at the fork
following. Turn left on the green lane which takes you back to the starting point.
