Exhibition: People of the sea? Campaniform in Brittany and beyond.

Musée de la Préhistoire 10 Place de la Chapelle
56340 Carnac
The exhibition on this phenomenon accompanies an international symposium to be held in Vannes in May 2025.
From the middle of the 3rd millennium BC, between the end of the Neolithic and the Bronze Age, a particular type of decorated ceramics spread throughout Europe. These vases were discovered along with some of the oldest metal objects, ornaments and archery equipment. Nineteenth-century archaeologists grouped them together under the name "Campaniform".
Brittany is a region rich in Campaniform remains. Come and admire exceptional treasures from burial sites and settlements. Collections scattered between several museums and recent discoveries are brought together for the first time.
Thanks to the latest analyses, learn more about this extraordinary
and maritime diffusion across Europe. Ask yourself about the diversity of Campaniform societies and the cultural links that unite them despite distance.
