For the twelfth year running, the Itinéraires festival in Morbihan invites you to experience a springtime of music.
Organized by the Académie de Musique et d'Arts Sacrés de Sainte-Anne-d'Auray, this touring festival invites you to discover or rediscover heritage treasures through music. Whether resounding under majestic vaulted ceilings or in the intimacy of a discreet chapel, each concert is an invitation to an encounter between music and heritage. Carried by the warm timbre of a voice or the purity of a violin, the listener rediscovers space: a painting suddenly catches his eye, a sculpted detail comes to life in a new light.
The festival is committed to promoting the great names of classical music as well as young talent. With this in mind, the Maîtrise de Sainte-Anne-d'Auray will be taking part in the world premiere on June 6 and 7.


The Mysterious Lady

Between 1623 and 1625, a mysterious lady appeared, candle in hand, at a place called Keranna. Four centuries later, Sainte-Anne-d'Auray is still the spiritual heart of Brittany. Pilgrims gather by the hundreds of thousands to honor Sainte Anne, the mother of the Bretons.
This oratorio takes us back to the time of the apparitions in a dreamlike atmosphere.

The text by Philippe Le Guillou (Prix Médicis 1997) and the music by Éric Tanguy (winner of the Victoires de la Musique awards in 2004 and 2008) will resonate first in the delicate setting of the Rennes opera house, then in the magnificent basilica of Sainte-Anne-d'Auray.

For this project, numerous personalities from the world of the arts were involved in a multi-faceted creative process, from literature and music to scenography and lighting.

The children of the Maîtrise and Ensemble vocal de Sainte-Anne-d'Auray are at the heart of the creation, as they will perform the choir parts in their entirety, in a staging that they have been working on for over a year with actress and director Amélie Parias.
