Les filles ne sont pas des poupées de chiffon is the story of a little girl born into a family where there are no sons. No heir, no descendant. In the country of this story, families without sons are banished, rejected by society. So they have to be invented. That's the tradition. So Ella is born a girl, and raised as a boy. She goes to school, works with her father, goes out. She's Eli on the outside and Ella on the inside. Like all children, she acclimates to her lot in life and enjoys the freedom of being a boy. Even if sometimes she feels like a rag doll, shaken in all directions. What she doesn't know yet is that at 13 she'll be put in a pretty dress and forcibly married to a suitor. This will mean the execution of Eli and the birth of Ella, with all the constraints and obligations that girls have to endure.

How will she react to this announcement? How will she respond to her parents? How will she transform her fate into destiny? This is what the show will reveal.
