In 2004, Rodolphe Burger, Erik Marchand and Mehdi Haddab were at the origin of Before Bach, a project of musical encounter between different cultures, embodied by rock / blues and traditional Breton singing, which gave birth to an album of the same name. . More than 15 years later, the three partners are renewing their weapons, voice, guitar and oud, for a concert under the sign of exchange and diversity. In 2019, they were already in the studio to expand their repertoire, developed with several of their fellow travelers: Pauline Willerval (gadoulka), Julien Perraudeau (bass, synth) and Arnaud Dieterlen (drums). At stake: Glück Auf! (Good luck!): It is the motto of the miners of Sainte-Marie-Aux-Mines but it is also the title of their new disc released at the end of August 2021. Album in which their repertoire once again illustrates the kinship between blues and traditional music, boosted by the energy of a rock rhythm.Made of various exclamations intertwined in a rise in sound and electric power, the opening track "Kazanova" combines the formidable song of Erik Marchand with that of Rodolphe Burger more peaceful. It is a cover of “Ar Froudennou” by the Erik Marchand trio, which invites the hypnotic loops of the gadoulka as well as the letting go of the oud and the guitar to develop an extravagant trance. This inseparable trio will be happy to perform songs from these two albums which, even though they were composed years apart, have the particularity of responding, joining and complementing each other.
