Chapel of Our Lady of Gornevecfavorite_borderAdd to favourites
The chapel was built in the 11th century by the monks of St. Gildas Rhuys, who owned property and land in the village. The site was still flourishing in the 19th century, attended by nurses who came to pray for an abundant milk. In the 20th century, its roof collapsed and the chapel fell into ruins. On a local initiative, it will be rebuilt in the 1990s. Inside, the structure has been exactly reproduced. The bays of the choir and transept windows welcome again. Pits, as eaves outside, are carved with figures and fantastic animals. The chapel is open: - Every weekend in the year - On Wednesday afternoons, from 12 July to 19 September 2010.
