To mark National Resistance Day, which takes place every year on May 27, the municipality of Locoal-Mendon, in association with ANACR Pays d'Auray, is organizing a ceremony in memory of the men and women who resisted during the Occupation of the Second World War.
This day is an opportunity to reflect on the values of the Resistance and those of the National Council of the Resistance.
The public is invited to join elected representatives and veterans' associations for this ceremony.
Ceremony schedule
10:45 a.m.: Gather in Place de la Mairie, march to the war memorial, accompanied by bagad players.
11am: reading of a poem by the mayor of the children's municipal council, wreath-laying, minute's silence, salute to the flags, bagad music.
