Festival des Chapelles #5 "The Cleaning Ladies" - Chapelle de Loperhet
9pm - The Cleaning Ladies - (American Folk)
Craig Schaffer hails from California, but chose to live in Brittany and play the music of his ancestors in France.
in France, first with Fly Away, a group that brought together the entire Schaffer family, then with Adèle Bailleul
Bailleul, whom he met during a creative residency with the group Thalam. With Adèle and Denise, he formed a new trio: The Cleaning Ladies.
The Cleaning Ladies perform gospel, sea chanteys and traditional American songs.
Bailleul on banjo, Denise Schaffer on dulcimer and guitar, Craig on dulcimer (American 4-stringed zither)
bodhran (Irish percussion), contrabassoon, washboard, broomstick... it's a blast!

Don't hesitate to bring your cushions: the church pews can be uncomfortable despite the quality of the listening...
The concert is organized by Erd'Evènement Vôtre in support of chapel maintenance:
