Roland GUYOMARCH, organist
Born in Brest in 1953, Roland Guyomarch began studying piano in Brest at a very early age, and French horn in Antony, where he was a member of the town band. His passion for the sound of the organ and the practice of this mystical instrument marked his adolescence, when he listened to the Grand Orgue of the St Louis church in Brest and accompanied the masses. A holder of the CAPES diploma in music education, his teaching career took him to a number of cities, and he continued his training at the conservatory, while receiving instruction from renowned organists such as Louis Thiry in Rouen, François-Henri Houbart in Orléans, Micheline Lagache in Nantes and François Espinasse in Brest, where he was awarded 1st prize for musical training at the conservatory and 2nd prize for organ. After working as a bombarde and organ duo, he was a finalist at the regional competition in Chantepie in 2012, winning Second Prize. He also performs as a soloist mainly in Brittany, teaches organ in private lessons and performs as organist in the churches of Plougastel-Daoulas and St Laurent in Brest. In 2013, he founded "L'Instant Violon & Orgue" with violinist Jean-Marie Lions, which is dedicated to original or well-arranged works for violin and organ. His curiosity and open-mindedness make him equally happy to tackle organ music from the 16th to the 20th century, with a predilection for Breton composers of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Jean-Marie LIONS, violinist
After completing his studies at the C.N.R. de Versailles with Robert Gendre at the age of 16, he continued to deepen his instrumental work with Marie-Christine Millières, and developed his taste for and practice of chamber music, in which he has been immersed since early childhood. During one of these courses, he met Philippe Bride, concertmaster and solo violinist with the Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, with whom he worked for 2 years, perfecting his technique and interpretation of the great concertos. His encounter with Baroque music on period instruments came in 1991. In 1992, he founded the ensemble Baroque au Présent. At the same time, he has been a member of the Brest-based baroque ensembles Collegium Orpheus and Ensemble Matheus, with whom he has made several recordings. He has performed with Ensemble Matheus in such prestigious venues as the Arsenal de Metz and the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, and has taken part in festivals (Ambronay, Ribovillé), radio and television broadcasts. Since 1996, he has been a permanent member of Trio de l'Instant, now L'Instant en Trio, and L'Instant en Duo, and also performs with L'Ensemble de l'Instant (a variable-geometry ensemble based on the members of the trio), mainly in oboe and string trio formation, or performing concertos with chamber orchestra.
