Kerbourgnec enclosure and alignments

Kerbourgnec enclosure: a large semi-circular megalithic enclosure The Kerbourgnec menhir enclosure, colloquially known as "cromlec'h", is a group of 42 standing stones arranged in a circular arc, open to the east. This ensemble is related to the Kerbourgnec alignments, located 50 m to the north-east, and has been listed as a Monument Historique since 1889.Kerbourgnec alignments: alignments of menhirs that extend into the seaThe Kerbourgnec alignments of menhirs are rows of standing stones that today extend for some 30 m. They have been restored in the past, and appear to have been restored in the past. Restored in the past, the site appears to be enclosed by houses built at the beginning of the 20th century, but research by Serge Cassen has shown that the site must have extended to 10 parallel lines that continue further east. As sea levels have risen since the Neolithic period, these rows are now partly submerged. The alignments, along with the megalithic enclosure, were classified as Historical Monuments in 1889.
