Discover this emblematic Japanese instrument with Véronique PIRON. The shakuhachi has been her companion since 1992. She became a master performer with a shihan license awarded in Japan by the famous Katsuya Yokoyama (1934-2010), who internationalized the instrument. Founder of the European Shakuhachi Federation in 2006, helping to spread the instrument. She is currently teacher-coordinator at EMPB (Ecole de Musique du Pays de Brocéliande (35), C.R.I.), where she teaches world music and free improvisation, among other subjects.
Among her most notable collaborations: the eminent flutist Kohei Nishikawa (CD Nipponflutes) who, in Japan, introduced her to the world of traditional transverse flutes, Wadaiko-Tokara/Fenikstaiko and the power of Japanese drums, the creative pianist Lydia Domancich (CD Sillage), Alan Stivell and his attraction to the culture of others in "AMzer", filmmaker Laurent Chevalier in the precision of a minimalist work, Bartabas and his equestrian theater Zingaro in "Ex Anima" on the theme of breath with an intense tour.
