The Loire, royal and rebellious
Ciné doc
Setting out from Mont Gerbier-de-Jonc, Jean and Wei followed the river step by step. They spent four seasons on the Loire, observing the landscape, the banks, the fish and the fishermen. The Loire overflows in winter or spring, then shrinks to veins of water, pulling its tongues of sand, in summer. True Loire lovers live on a toue, a plate or a fûtreau, observing the moods of the river, which surprises them every time with its dynamics, its lights and its unexpected traps. The mariners are a large family, linked by this common thread to the great Loire festivals of Le Thoureil, Saumur and Orléans. Sports enthusiasts also enjoy the Loire, whether sailing, canoeing, jet skiing or even jousting. As we explore the towns along the river, the vineyards and the châteaux, we'll recall the history of this royal river, all the way to Saint-Nazaire, the ocean-facing port from which the world's largest ocean liners escape.
Screening in the presence of director Jean Charbonneau from Cercle des Voyageurs.
