"The film tells the story of a sailor pursuing a childhood dream: to take the start of the Vendée Globe. For several years, the director follows Tanguy Le Turquais behind the scenes of this adventure: the technical preparations, the doubts, the sacrifices and the obstacles he has to overcome to reach the starting line.
Through this journey, the documentary shows the storms - both literal and figurative - that punctuate the preparation: financial uncertainties, sporting pressure and moments of fragility. But it also highlights the essential support around the skipper: his family, his team and the human ecosystem that makes such a project possible.
At the same time, the film introduces a more intimate perspective: that of a child who dreamed of this legendary race, and that of a little girl who sees her parents set off to sail around the world. These two perspectives give the story a family and generational dimension.
Above and beyond the sporting feat, the documentary explores perseverance, the ability to keep going despite the obstacles, and the meaning that a project can take on when it is based on strong human values, in particular the commitment to the Lazare association."
