Conference: "The sun, friend or foe?

As part of its Local Health Contract, Auray Quiberon Terre Atlantique invites you to a free conference, open to all, on Wednesday May 20 in Landévant. Entitled "The sun, friend or foe?" it will be hosted by Pierre Cesarini, director of the Sécurité Solaire association. He will explain the real dangers of the sun, but also its benefits, through a scientific, historical and practical journey. Every year, exposure to the sun remains one of the main risk factors for skin cancer. In Brittany, where preconceived ideas about sun exposure are hard to dispel, prevention is more essential than ever.

Through an accessible, illustrated and interactive approach, this conference pursues a clear objective: to better understand the effects of the sun in order to better protect ourselves.

The program includes
- Sorting out what's real and what's not: preconceived ideas, myths and realities about the sun and its effects.
- Understanding the issues: the link between global warming, the ozone layer and UV radiation.
- Everyday action: practical advice on how to protect your skin, your eyes and those of your children, how to choose your sunscreen, and how to spot the warning signs.

The conference will be followed by a discussion with participants and a convivial drink.
