Colosse des mères: an epic from Lorient
Lorient at the end of the 19th century. Sailing fishing boats were based in the wet dock, and newcomers were arriving: steam trawlers. Industrial fishing was launched. 1927: Kéroman, a port for industrial fishing! The decades that followed saw euphoria, crisis, innovation and completion. The biggest shipyard in Lorient, then in France. An innovative manager, Firmin, boss and then captain of the shipyard, testifies. The rise and fall of industrial fishing in Lorient.
