Josselin Castle

Home to the Rohan family for several centuries, the Château de Josselin offers visitors a true journey back in time with its imposing medieval towers overlooking the Oust River, its carved granite façade built during the Renaissance, and its interiors, which were fully restored in the 19th century.

For garden lovers, the estate features a rose garden with over forty varieties, an English-style park stretching at the foot of the ramparts, and a French-style garden created in the early 20th century by landscape architect Achille Duchêne.

Housed in the castle’s former stables, the Doll and Toy Museum showcases the collection of Duchess Herminie de Rohan. The permanent exhibition is supplemented each year by a themed exhibition. Approximately 600 dolls are on display along with their accessories, as well as numerous games and toys.

- February 14 through March 8: Open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- April 4 through November 1: Open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Annual closure beginning November 2, 2026.
