Classified as Historic Monuments in 1862, the 195 megaliths (Mégas Lithos: Large Stones) are oriented east-west. Today, these alignments are 200m long in 5 rows, and date from between 5000 and 2000 BC. Just a few centuries ago, they numbered 1130 in 11 rows, and must have been 2km long and 65m wide.
