Self-guided tour of the Fort de Penthièvre site
It is the first building at the very entrance to the peninsula. It has been classified as a historic monument since 1933 and now serves as a commando training center; only the outdoor areas are accessible.
A fortified enclosure located on the oceanfront, construction of which began in 1747 with the support of the Duke of Penthièvre. This site played an important role in history, particularly during the fighting between the Chouans and the Republicans in 1795, and during World War II, when 59 members of the Resistance were executed there.

Fort Access Guidelines:
Visitors must agree to undergo the necessary security checks.
A current, valid form of identification will be required. Anyone without identification will be denied access.
No backpacks.
Handbags will be visually inspected.
Entry counts will be recorded.
No smoking.
Young children must be held by the hand by their parents.
