Theater in Étel: “L’Autre” by Florian Zeller

There are three of them: She, He, and the Other.
She and he love each other. To live happily ever after, they’ve laid down rules. They want to protect their love, to be different from others, to escape boredom, silence, jealousy, infidelity, and ugliness. But five years were enough to turn their dream of perfect love into a nightmare. These wounded lovers no longer recognize each other. Each faces their own loneliness, facing this “Other” who accompanies them. But where will this lead them?
In *L’Autre*, Florian Zeller reinvents the love triangle and makes us question the couple—how it functions, its difficulties, its trials, and its fears. In the words of Jérôme Garcin, “Zeller’s lines are down-to-earth. They capture the joys and sorrows of life as a couple with great sensitivity.” *L’Autre* speaks of love, of the loneliness that can sometimes come from being a couple, and of *L’Autre*—the person we are and the one who walks beside us.

A play by Florian Zeller, performed by the Puits Ferré theater company of Hennebont. This performance replaces the originally scheduled play, “La Vieill’rit.”
