Carve your menhir!

"Ink, colors and prehistory": a work by schoolchildren accompanied by artist Emma Burr.

Carnac schoolchildren and visual artist Emma BURR create a portrait gallery of the menhirs in the Alignments. The first part of the project will involve a discovery tour of the Alignments, with a historical approach to the megalithic phenomenon and an extensive sequence of "in situ" and on-the-spot drawings.
Emma BURR then accompanies art practice sessions at Carnac's two secondary schools: reworking drawings made in direct contact with the monuments, dry-point engraving on Plexiglas, inking and printing on a manual press. The final stage is coloring using a watercolor technique.

Emma Burr's work revolves around drawing, watercolor and etching. She draws her inspiration from her surroundings: architecture and the city
nature and flora in particular, and scenes from beaches, walks and museum outings.
