During the Neolithic period, pottery accompanied newly settled people in their domestic activities, as well as in their funeral rites and various ritual practices. Pottery proved to be perfectly suited to meet needs for storage, cooking, and serving. It was not only a craft dedicated to producing functional objects but also the work of true specialized artists.
Demonstration of techniques for making and decorating Neolithic pottery.
Introductory workshops for participants to create and decorate a pottery piece, led by Gwenaëlle Hamon, prehistorian and ceramologist
Four sessions are scheduled at 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. - Duration: 50 minutes
Ages 6 and up (Children are the responsibility of their accompanying adults.)
Please bring a box to take your pottery home.
