Synopsis
“Who hasn’t dreamed of traveling the Silk Road in the footsteps of Marco Polo? For more than 2,000 years, people from all walks of life have traveled the caravan routes of China, which, starting from the imperial city of Xi’an, crossed the hostile Gobi and Taklamakan deserts, as well as the formidable Pamir Plateau, often called the ‘Roof of the World.’ Caravanserais, ghost towns, and gigantic Buddhist shrines stand today as testament to the richness of this extraordinary history. Today, amid landscapes of rare beauty, daily life continues in Central Asia.”
