Through songs and storytelling in Breton and French, combined with contemporary dance, Liant-Kaer aims to introduce audiences to—or help them rediscover—the traditional songs of Lower Brittany by blending a cappella vocals, contemporary dance, storytelling, and audio and written archives. Nolùen Le Buhé is among the most renowned singers specializing in this repertoire. By inviting dancer and choreographer Pauline Sol Dourdin to join her this time, she further deepens her long-standing approach: to make the world of these songs—the people who love them, those who sing them, and those who collect them—accessible to all audiences; and, ultimately, the world contained within the songs themselves—particularly the grand sung narratives known as gwerzioù, which are constantly reshaped by the interplay of memory and oral tradition.
