The Capulet and Montague families have long been locked in a bitter feud. Juliet, a daughter of the Capulets, and Romeo, a son of the Montagues, meet by chance and fall madly in love. But Juliet is betrothed to Count Paris. With the help of Laurence, Romeo’s confidant, and Agnes, Juliet’s nurse, the young lovers marry in secret. But the tragic death of Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin, forces Romeo into exile. Laurence then devises a plan so that the newlyweds can be reunited and live out their love.
