The 28/10/2026
Ensemble Matheus Concert in Quiberon
Founded in Brest in 1991 by violinist and conductor Jean-Christophe Spinosi, the Ensemble Matheus has been performing for over thirty years on major stages in France and around the world.
From the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées to the Salzburg Festival, from the Theater an der Wien to venues in London, New York, and Madrid, it has forged a unique identity, driven by energy, virtuosity, a sense of theater, and great interpretive freedom. In 2024, the Ensemble also participated in two ceremonies at the Paris Olympic Games.
The Ensemble Matheus reunites with soprano Patricia Petibon at the Notre Dame de Locmaria Church in Quiberon for *Le Baroque en terre celte*, a musical journey through Baroque Europe.
To bring this musical journey to life, the Ensemble Matheus welcomes Patricia Petibon, one of the most distinctive figures on the French opera scene. Known for the intensity of her stage presence, her interpretive freedom, and her penchant for blending different repertoires, the soprano finds in this program a playground perfectly suited to her talents. This concert is a journey across centuries and borders: opera arias, dazzling instrumental pieces, and folk melodies—this program brings together the great masters of European Baroque and tunes born of tradition.
