"Named after Sainte Madeleine, patron saint of lepers, this chapel was built on the site of a medieval leper colony. Abandoned at the end of the 16th century, then restored in the 19th, it was abandoned again after the 2nd World War. In 1976, Eric BONNET, Joseph Le BAYON and the inhabitants of the surrounding villages rebuilt it. They founded the Association des Amis de la Chapelle de la Madeleine (Friends of the Chapelle de la Madeleine), which has been maintaining and enhancing the site since 1977.
