A mosaic of natural environments, the dune sector of the Barre d'Etel is ideal for observing breeding and migratory birds. The short grasslands of the fixed dune are home to pipits, larks and clammy wheatears, while the reed beds are home to reed warblers, reed buntings and blue throats. It's also an opportunity to look for Red-necked Gravelot on the beach near the tidal flats, and to discuss the vulnerability of this fragile species.
