Brittany's landscapes in word and deed!
In the peasant society of the pre-1950s, people were well aware of their dependence on the land that nurtured them. Lucien Pouëdras' paintings bear witness to these close ties. In the post-war period, the transformation of the traditional agricultural system has changed more than just landscapes. To remember these landscapes, to understand their mutation, is to question our ways of looking at and experiencing our landscapes.
This exhibition combines panels and some thirty paintings by Lucien Pouëdras.
Lucien Pouëdras' work provides a colorful and richly detailed account of daily life in the traditional agricultural system.
