Sur les chemins d'Œdipe

Les Arts et les Autres company

Hasn't everything already been said? That's the question these actors ask themselves when they decide to stage Sophocles' Œdipe à Colone. Around the table, the troupe project themselves onto the stage in the shadow of the curtains, constructing, deconstructing, idolizing and then mocking this play so far removed, of an outcast Oedipus taking to the road with his daughter to the town of Colone, his ultimate destination. Through readings, bursts of laughter and spats, everyone reveals and tells their own story as Sophocles' text unfolds... What place do we give to our elders? What is heritage? How loyal are we to our family, to our history? And above all, why hasn't the lead actress arrived yet?

Having already explored the words of Martin Crimp and Tiago Rodrigues, Les Arts et les Autres is now embarking on a new kind of creation: stage writing. Oscillating between text and actors' testimonies, the play is built up over the course of a rehearsal, its elucidations, tears and laughter.

"For my third creation with the company, I wanted to explore the frontiers of theater, like a balancing act, playing with truth and reality, between intimate truth and the truth of the stage, as if theater were not a reflection of reality, but that reality invited itself onto the stage. Mickaël Le Bihan

A disturbing couple

A dramatic comedy by Pierre Sauvil
Théâtre de la Lande

A stranger arrives to conduct an opinion poll in the home of a couple whose behavior turns out to be strange. Is the husband crazy? Or has his wife lost her mind? But beware, it could be the pollster who's putting on an act?

Throughout the plot, it's impossible not to wonder "Who's who? And who wants what?"
An original, bizarre story, regularly shifting from laughter to emotion, and confirming what many people think: we should be wary of opinion polls.

"What appealed to me in this play was the unease felt by spectators, depending on which character they identified with. It's also the interplay between the characters of Alice and Antoine, and of course, the play's unexpected ending...!
