Lecture: “Zacharie Le Rouzic, Archaeologist and Photographer in Carnac (1864–1939)” His rich and eventful life will be presented by his great-granddaughter, Gwénaëlle Wilhelm-Bailloud.
A charming, extraordinary, intelligent, hardworking, erudite, and self-taught figure, Zacharie Le Rouzic left his mark on the region and helped establish the reputation of the megalithic monuments.
His name is associated with the Carnac City Museum. A pioneer of photography, he left behind a collection of fascinating photographs that serve as a testament to his era. He offered an exceptional perspective on the upheavals of both local and international history.
