Silence told me...

SILENCE is generally defined as the absence of noise and sound.
In oral communication, it can signify agreement, disagreement, listening or reflection.
An abstract element, it can be translated by words such as: blackout, secret, censorship, death, reserve, sleep, sulkiness, calm, peace...
It can be distressing, crushing, painful, brief, abrupt, disdainful... but also approving, complicit, comforting, enveloping, complete, in-between...
And sometimes, it's an invisible handicap imposed by nature or life's accidents, which considerably affects the daily life of deaf or hard-of-hearing people.
the daily lives of deaf and hard-of-hearing people.
For this exhibition, initiated by a hard-of-hearing artist, Ely'Ondre, 27 artists interpret what SILENCE has to say to us, to raise awareness among hearing adults and children of the world of the hard-of-hearing and deaf through ART.
The artists interpret the world of silence, the visible and the invisible, in all its forms, combining painting, installations, ceramics, sculpture, photography, poetry and dance, to convey emotion, meditation, atmosphere, imagination, feeling, movement...
In addition to the artists' works, there will be lectures, storytelling sessions, a puzzle for the whole family to construct, and a short film of a choreographic creation, all of which will punctuate the exhibition throughout its duration.
