Chosen by Eric Tabarly to build the Pen Duick II which made him famous in 1964 by winning the second edition of the English Transatlantic race, the port of La Trinité-sur-Mer has over the years become a sailing mecca thanks to the "locomotives" of the regatta who have always come here to learn their trade and pick up their laurels.
The great names of ocean racing assiduously frequent this port favoured by nature. Well sheltered at the bottom of its ria, La Trinité-sur-Mer is an ideal home port for crewed races (500 boats in the spring for the "Spi" and for the "Tour de Belle-Ile"), as well as a perfect training base for the famous "giants of the seas" (60-foot monohulls, maxi-trimarans, etc.).
Nature has also made it a great oyster farming centre, and has provided it with very pleasant beaches. As the presence of numerous megaliths testifies, Man has appreciated the place for a long time. Today he likes to repeat the day's regatta around a good table, on the port or in one of the quieter lanes which make the timeless charm of the old "village" of La Trinité-sur-Mer.
