Broadcast of the opera "Platée" — A Special Evening at Micro-Folie Sainte-Anne-d'Auray

Contact
As part of its Micro-Folie digital museum, the Academy of Music and Sacred Arts invites you to another exceptional evening.
For this event, the Academy will screen the opera *Platée*, recorded at the Paris National Opera.

A jewel of French Baroque opera, *Platée* is classified as a *ballet bouffon*. Set to a libretto by Valois d’Orville—a minor masterpiece of comic mechanics—Rameau’s musical creativity sparkles: each scene is an iconoclastic blend of declamatory or ornamented arias, choruses, and dances that bring to life a plot brimming with secondary roles and twists and turns. Alongside Julie Fuchs, Lawrence Brownlee took on the title role for the first time, under the musical direction of Marc Minkowski and in Laurent Pelly’s comical and off-the-wall production.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. -
Broadcast begins at 6:45 p.m.
Duration: 3 hours (with a 30-minute intermission featuring savory and sweet snacks available for a donation of your choice).
