Screening of the film *Peru: Civilizations and People* with director Bernard Bruel in attendance
Who hasn’t dreamed when hearing the name Peru, synonymous with Spanish conquistadors and the hidden treasures of El Dorado!
The film takes you on a journey to discover these lands and the mysterious peoples of this mythical country.
The Pacific coast, home to the earliest civilizations, provides Peruvians with delicious dishes of raw fish.
The Andes mountain range, home to indigenous peoples in colorful ponchos, and the Amazonian valleys, where fair-trade coffee and chocolate are harvested.
Machu Picchu and the many sites in the Sacred Valley of Cuzco, with their countless Inca stone structures.
The high peaks of the Cordillera Blanca, a paradise for hikers and the domain of alpaca herders, whose wool is so soft...
Finally, the famous Lake Titicaca with its terraced fields, at an altitude of 4,000 meters...
Captivated from his teenage years by the images of *Tintin in the Land of the Sun* and the sounds of the Indian flute, Bernard Bruel was very quickly and irresistibly drawn to the Andes Mountains, and particularly to Bolivia. It is this multifaceted country—where he has spent many trips over the years—that he invites you to discover. He is a member of the Rennes-based Latin music group “Opakuna.”
Running time: 84 minutes
