Lecture – Jean-Bertrand Pégot-Ogier, a Painter from Morbihan
Moderated by Christian Bellec
A painter, draftsman, and illustrator, Jean-Bertrand Pégot-Ogier (1877–1915) devoted his work to Breton landscapes, scenes of daily life, and the traditions of his time.
During this lecture, Christian Bellec, president of the Friends of the Faouët Museum, will guide attendees through the life and artistic journey of this artist via a selection of nearly fifty works.
Based in Hennebont, trained alongside the painters of Concarneau, and later dividing his time between Brittany and Paris, Pégot-Ogier developed a unique perspective on the landscapes and people of our region.
Special attention will be given to works related to Morbihan, including three paintings depicting the Quiberon Peninsula and its landscapes, which reflect the artist’s interest in early 20th-century Brittany.
