Lecture: The Submerged Megaliths of the Ria
"At the beginning of the Neolithic period, about 7,000 years ago, sea levels were 8 to 10 meters below today's highest tides.
Rising waters buried nearly 650 menhirs from Nostang to Plouhinec… and thus protected them from the destruction that has affected so many of these monuments.
The study of these preserved sites proved to be highly instructive, as these oldest monuments of the Ria turned out to be far more revealing than most of those found in non-submerged areas."
