Lecture: Understanding and Addressing Body Image
How do we form our perception of our bodies?
Between social norms, media influence, and pressure from those around us, body image can sometimes become a source of dissatisfaction and unhappiness.
This talk aims to provide a better understanding of body image, explore how body standards are formed, and identify the mechanisms that can reinforce dissatisfaction.
It will also prompt reflection on practical steps we can take and alternative approaches to developing a more positive and compassionate relationship with our bodies.
Open to everyone ages 12 and up
Doors open at 6:45 p.m.
Free, registration required
