Whether Artificial Intelligence is a cure or a poison is undoubtedly a question many people ask themselves. It is also a question raised by certain recent innovations. The lack of clarity regarding its usefulness and consequences should lead us to reflect more deeply on what we expect from technology. Thus, it is important to revisit the origins of AI development and its practical applications. First from a philosophical perspective, and then through the lens of digital sciences, we will attempt to establish a dialogue between these approaches to the language of thought in order to determine whether the evolution brought about by AI constitutes a revolution or not.
