“Ctrl + Heart + Beat” is a spectacular lecture-concert exploring the unique history of musical machines, from the earliest sound automata to electronic music. It offers a thoughtful exploration of the relationships between music, technology… and humanity.
Sam Verlen invites the audience to discover and play his incredible Orchestrion 2.0 using video game controllers and a theremin.
During the show, the audience is invited to try out the instruments by playing them using video game controllers, video game dance mats, and even a theremin. These playful moments transform spectators into active participants in the experience, creating a warm and tangible interaction centered on the unique sounds of these instruments.
