A multidisciplinary performance about oysters as part of the La Vigie sur Mer festival

As intriguing as it is coveted, the oyster evokes images of the holiday season or seaside vacations in the collective imagination. What if this bivalve revealed a world of discoveries and curiosities?
Why do oyster lovers feel as though they’re “drinking the sea”? How does the oyster come into being, grow, and become a poetic object once our senses are awakened?

Maryse Meiche, accompanied by musician Fabrice Naud, transforms a seemingly trivial subject into an aesthetic experience capable of delighting our taste buds, eyes, and ears alike, all while questioning our relationship with the marine environment.

This theatrical, musical, and playful variation on the oyster is performed outdoors at an oyster farm—with the barge serving as the stage and the natural setting of the Crac’h River as the backdrop.

The Paranthoën Brothers:
The show is followed by an oyster tasting and a musical performance by Les Frères Paranthoën, virtuosos of the accordion, violin, and vocals, who will present their repertoire blending Breton music and improvisation.
