The Alignements of Carnac
The Carnac alignments are a collection of nearly 3,000 stones erected during the Neolithic period, between 5,000 and 2,000 B.C. They are the most famous and impressive structures of this period.
The inhabitants of this period were great megalith builders, and have left us a wealth of stone architecture: menhirs, dolmens, covered walkways...
The Carnac alignments are at once a historic monument, an exceptional piece of architecture and an extraordinary natural site!
These different dimensions of discovery and interpretation of the site contribute to enriching the emotion it arouses.
Open all year round. Guided tours are organized all year round, and family visits and workshops are offered during the school vacations. Online booking recommended (limited capacity). Consult the Maison des megalithes opening times and the schedule of visits and events on the website www.menhirs-carnac.fr
Prior to your visit, visit the Maison des megalithes, the Alignments interpretation center. Please note that PRM access is possible in the reception building. For outdoor visits, please enquire in advance.
