Gledgen beach (Rolay)

Plage du Rolay
56740 Locmariaquer
Gledgen Beach, also known as Rolay Beach, is located between Falaise Beach and Kerpenhir Point, across from Port Navalo, and overlooks the ocean.

From May through the end of July, Kentish plovers have taken to nesting there, often at the top of the beach, laying their eggs directly on the sand right in the middle of the “tidal flat.” To protect this small endangered bird, certain areas of the beach are closed to the public, and the nests are also protected from predators by cages.

The town of Locmariaquer offers beach access and swimming carts on loan for people with disabilities.

This equipment can be reserved through the nautical club (contact@snlocmariaquer.com, 02 97 57 46 31) at Pointe de Kerpenhir. It is lightweight and foldable and fits easily in a car trunk.
