3 days of festivities to celebrate the UNESCO inscription of the megaliths!

It’s official: the megaliths of Carnac and the Morbihan coast have been inscribed on UNESCO’s prestigious World Heritage List since July 12. International recognition for this millennia-old heritage shaped over 7,000 years ago… and immense collective pride for our region!

To celebrate this historic event together, a festive, creative, and family-friendly weekend awaits you from September 19 to 21, 2025. A program packed with activities, shows, discoveries, and excitement: FREE AND OPEN TO ALL!

📍 Friday, September 19 in Arzon

A magical evening at the Cairn de Petit Mont

Immerse yourself in a poetic atmosphere around the cairn, where light and mystery intertwine.

6:00 PM to 8:00 PM: Many free activities

  • Concert, stilt walkers, jugglers, skits
  • Food trucks and refreshment stand

8:15 PM to 9:30 PM: Theatrical performance

  • Improvisational theater
  • Illuminated nighttime parade
  • Site illumination at nightfall

Free shuttle from the Sanso parking lot. Free admission with registration at (capacity: 500 people)

📍 Saturday, September 20 in Carnac

A big community festival in the heart of the megaliths

Starting at 4 p.m., meet at the foot of the Saint-Michel Tumulus for an unforgettable day—free and open to all.

Megaliths Area: Neolithic immersion

  • Hands-on workshops: pottery, cob, jewelry making, moving a menhir, engraving, rope-making
  • Informative & cultural booths, VR headsets
  • Photo booth, quizzes, building games, creative workshops
  • Exhibitions: engravings, photos, children’s artwork…

Korrigans Area: fun activities

  • Giant wooden games
  • Face-painting booths
  • Balloon artist
  • Breton-themed board games
  • Creative workshop

Music stage & drone show

  • 7:00 PM: Street performance by Bagadoù from Carnac, Landaul, Locoal-Mendon, and Lann-Bihoué
  • 8:00 PM: Jazz/open-air café atmosphere – Swing dance with Feet J & Swing 56
  • 9:30 PM: Grand light show featuring 500 drones in the sky over Carnac
  • 10 PM to midnight: Electro-Celtic concert with the band Aroze

Food and beverage areas

  • 7 food trucks and food stands
  • Community refreshment stand run by local parents

Explore the megaliths in a new way

This final day invites you to discover the megalithic heritage in a new way throughout the region.

On land

  • Over 30 marked trails for walking, biking, Segway, or mini-train
  • Treasure hunts, storytelling walks, Qi Gong, murder mystery games, coastal trails…

On the water

  • Guided cruises in the Gulf of Morbihan
  • Kayaking or paddleboarding tours departing from Auray, Saint-Philibert, and Baden

In the air

  • Hot-air balloon flights over the Carnac stone circles: passes available ONLY through contests held prior to the event.

Global recognition, a source of collective pride

This UNESCO designation places our region alongside the Great Wall of China, the pyramids of Egypt, and the Great Barrier Reef. With over 550 recognized megalithic sites, this inscription celebrates a heritage unique in the world and the commitment of an entire community: local authorities, researchers, enthusiasts, residents… It’s an opportunity to celebrate this living heritage together, shaped over 7,000 years ago!
