Auray Quiberon Terre Atlantique awarded the "Pays d'art et d'histoire" label
A collective adventure between water and people
It's official! Last May, the Auray Quiberon Terre Atlantique region was awarded the title of"Pays d'art et d'histoire" by the French Ministry of Culture for the next ten years. This prestigious accolade recognizes the value of our exceptional heritage, and affirms our strong commitment to preserving it, passing it on and, above all, bringing it to life with and for its inhabitants.
A label, a commitment
This national label is not merely honorary: it rewards an ambitious approach led by the elected representatives of Auray Quiberon Terre Atlantique around a unifying theme deeply rooted in the territory's identity:"Water and people".
For here, between rivers, ports, salt marshes, fountains, mills and maritime traditions, water has always shaped landscapes... and lives. This intimate link between nature and culture, people and their environment, is now the common thread running through a new heritage adventure.
A living heritage for all
With the support of DRAC Bretagne, Auray Quiberon Terre Atlantiques is embarking on a vast program to promote, mediate and raise awareness of its heritage, whether built, natural, intangible or landscape.
Museums, local associations, emblematic sites, residents, schools, artists... Everyone is invited to take part in this collective dynamic. Because this Pays d'art et d'histoire will not be built without you: it will be built with you.
A rich program from 2025
From now on, young and old alike can immerse themselves in this new cultural chapter thanks to a series of initiatives open to all:
- Les RENDEZ-VOUS: a program of events, tours, workshops and encounters to discover from May to October 2025.
- Explorers" booklets: fun learning activities for the whole family!
- The application file: a fascinating document to help you understand the challenges and the vision of the Communauté de communes.
