Get ready for a historic weekend! On June 20 and 21, 2026, the Quiberon Peninsula will become the center of the sports world as it hosts a prestigious stop on the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS).

More than just a race, this event is a crucial qualifying stage for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. WTCS Quiberon 2026 features elite competitions, events open to the public, and a lively event village. Between the adrenaline of the competition, the iconic landscapes of Quiberon Bay, and a festive atmosphere, here’s everything you need to know so you don’t miss a thing at this exceptional event.

An international sporting event

Quiberon is set to welcome the world’s triathlon elite in a unique natural setting:

  • 120 professional athletes of all nationalities
  • Global broadcast on more than 90 TV channels
  • More than 1,500 participants expected in the “Open” races
  • 20 countries represented
  • More than 400 volunteers on hand

The detailed weekend schedule

On June 20 and 21, six races will take place in Quiberon. The start will be on Quiberon’s Grande Plage (Kasino side). The finish line will be in front of the Espace Louison Bobet for all races.

Saturday, June 20: The world’s elite take the stage

The day is dedicated to the “Sprint” format (750m swim, 20km bike ride over 4 laps, 10km run).

  • 10 a.m.: Start of the WTCS Men’s Elite Race
  • 12 :00 p.m.: Start of the WTCS Elite Women’s Race
  • 3:00 PM: Start of the XS Distance Race (open to all: 400m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run)
  • 8:30 p.m.: Big night out with a free concert by Deportivo (Hoche stage), preceded by Malween

Sunday, June 21: Mixed Relay and Fête de la Musique

  • 9:00 a.m.: Start of the M Distance Race (open to all: 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run)
  • 1:00 PM: Start of the S Distance race (open to all: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run)
  • 5:00 PM: Start of the WTCS Elite Mixed Relay, the most spectacular event featuring teams of 2 men and 2 women (250-meter swim, 9-kilometer bike, 1.25-kilometer run). Relay: after the run and before the next swim, at the beach.
  • Starting at 6:30 p.m.: Music Festival throughout the city (Port Haliguen, Place Hoche, Quai de l’Océan...) featuring numerous local bands

The event is organized by TEVE and the Quiberon Triathlon Club with support from the French Triathlon Federation, World Triathlon, the City of Quiberon, and the Brittany Region; it promises to be a highlight of the French summer sports season.

Practical Information: How to Get There and Get Around

The roads around the Espace Louison Bobet ( finish line and event village) will be completely closed over the weekend. Parking lots will be available, and pedestrian routes leading to the event village will also be set up throughout the city. Check the guide.

Use public transportation whenever possible

  • The Tire-Bouchon (TER): Auray-Quiberon route (7 stations served) for just €5. Book
  • The BreizhGo Bus (Line 601): From the Auray train station for €2.50

Biking: The “Great Deal” Option

Take the V45 Coastal Bike Route along the Côte Sauvage to avoid traffic jams. Bike parking is available at: Beg Er Vil Middle School, Neptilude Pool, City Hall, Place Hoche, etc.

Parking and Services

If you’re driving, arrive early to fully enjoy the races starting first thing in the morning, before 8:30 a.m., then stay a little longer after the final events to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the concert. Expect difficulties getting into the city center; opt for parking lots located a bit further out.

  • Parking des Îles (650 spaces): Paid parking, with free shuttles every 15 minutes (7 a.m.–10 p.m.) to the city center
  • Camping de Kerné Parking Lot (300 spaces): A 30-minute walk from the center (parking only, no accommodations)
  • Kerné RV Park: 120 spaces (paid)
  • Accessible public restrooms: Jardin de Bretinio, Place du Repos, Parking des Îles, Grande Plage

Where to eat and stay?

There are many restaurants within a 1.5 km to 4 km radius (Port Maria, Downtown, Port Haliguen). Tip: Be sure to make a reservation in advance!
